From Datong city center, you can choose to take bus routes 3, 12, 37, or 603 to reach the Yungang Grottoes stop. If you are starting from Datong South Railway Station, you can take bus route 31 to Jinze Garden Bus Stop, then transfer to route 12 to reach the Yungang Grottoes scenic area. From the Xinan Long-Distance Bus Station, you can take bus route 28 to the Datong Bus Repair Factory stop, then transfer to bus route 3 to the Yungang Grottoes scenic area from the Bus Company No. 4 stop. The seated Buddha at Cave 20 of the Yungang Grottoes is the most famous open-air Buddha in Yungang, being the fifth cave of the Five Caves of Tan Yao, which was carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is located in the middle-western part of the Yungang Grottoes complex.
