The model is seated among the flowers, with the photographer shooting from a low angle, slightly looking up to emphasize the natural atmosphere of the flowers and the model. The composition follows the rule of thirds, placing the model on the right third of the frame, with the flowers occupying most of the picture to create depth. Use a 50mm focal length or a 2x zoom on a phone to compress the space and highlight the harmony between the subject and the background.

Travel Tip: The entrance fee for the Summer Palace is 10 RMB.

Walking Guide

Take the Line 4 subway to Yuanmingyuan Station and exit at Exit B. Walk east along Yiheyuan Road for about 100 meters to the South Gate of Yuanmingyuan (Zhengjue Temple Entrance) and enter the park. Go straight through the ticket checkpoint and walk north along the main path for 500 meters. Pass the Western Palaces ruins guide map, and at the first crossroads (where you’ll see a sign for "Jiuzhou Scenic Area" on your left), turn left into the Jiuzhou Qingyan area. Follow the brick path east for 200 meters, and when you see the "Zhaoshen Yude" ruins sign (a stone stele), the ruins and lotus pond on your right will be the Zhaoshen Yude site. Nearby, you can see a large expanse of February Lan flowers.
