Walking Guide

1. Get off at Tiananmen East Station and exit from Exit A. After exiting, walk straight east. 2. Reach Chang'an Avenue and walk north along it, passing the east side of Tiananmen Square. 3. Continue north to Wumen (Meridian Gate), and enter the Forbidden City through Wumen. 4. After entering the Forbidden City, walk north along the central axis, passing through the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preserving Harmony. 5. Pass through Qianqing Gate and continue north to Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Hall, and Kunning Palace. 6. Turn east at Kunning Palace and enter the Eastern Six Palaces area. Yanxi Palace is within the Eastern Six Palaces. Enter Yanxi Palace to admire the lilacs.
