Photography Tips

For a symmetrical composition along the central axis (a classic angle), position yourself on the central axis pathway directly south of the Yongding Gate Tower, with the subject in the middle of the pathway. Use a wide-angle lens (16-35mm) to capture the tower and the depth of the pathway from a low angle. On a sunny day, shoot with the light coming from behind you. On a rainy day, capture the reflection of the tower. The best times to shoot are one hour after sunrise or during the blue hour before sunset. For the best reflection, choose a time when the water is calm, and consider using a long exposure for a smoother effect.
